Home Building in For the Worst?

by Bob Turek on October 29th, 2007

A conversation a few months ago with a VP of a large Los Angeles area home builder revealed they had done extensive lean continuous improvement projects but were definitely not starting any more soon. The market from their perspective had “crashed” causing them to get orders to stop large home building projects and also stop most training and business process development programs.

My fellow blogger Dan Rafter keeps up with the real estate market plus he gives unusual, but good, advice on how to best sell your home- things like avoiding barking dogs, confederate flags, and frying hamburger in case a vegetarian buyer hits your front door. His most recent post revealed the extent of the California fall off reporting close to a 40% drop in home sales as compared to the same month last year.
